When a storm builds on the high plains of Wyoming and drops into northwestern Colorado it starts rolling just like an out of control semi. When it slams into Mt. Zirkel, you don’t want to be there. The 160,000 acre Mt. Zirkel Wilderness lies northeast of Steamboat Springs. Mount Zirkel, elevation 12,182 ft (3,713 m), is the highest summit of the Park Range in northern Colorado.
